| We need to have some consistency with our fonts. This applies to ALL projects (though if you have your own format for a specific project, then fine, as long as one project only has ONE format). Here are the fonts I've been using for Nodame Cantabile: - Quote :
- SPEECH
wildwords augie (bg) telegram (teasing) notepad (handwriting/bg) irezumi (bg) kindergarten (bg) bergell (fancy handwriting or speech/stresemann) yikes! (shouting/excited) flair jennifer's handwriting (chiaki's handwriting) umberto (chiaki angry) squeaky chalk sound (nodame angry) marky marker (chiaki angry--comedic) bradley hand (bg) almagro (nodame's handwriting) big fish ensemble (hard time speaking) jinky (bg) john handy (handwriting)
SFX chicken scratch (horror) dijkstra chronicles of a hero kids (WAH) diamond (loud noises/SLAM) squeaky chalk sound zud juice panama forte (actions) brooklyn kid aberration (cutting air-like sounds) bada boom yikes! (loud sudden noises/BAM) ninja naruto augie (nodame sounds/mukyaa)
BACKGROUND almagro (labels) swatch it (narration/events) fontocide (events) trebuchet ms (labels/doing this etc/"Capital small format") arctic (labels) luicida handwriting (cursive labels) verdana (formal and simple labels)
NOTES tahoma
FORMAL (songs and stuff) cloister The main speech font is wildwords, size 14. Conversation in past experiences / remembering use italics and 70% gray, still wildwords. [Words in brackets] in conversations are replaced with "quotation marks". SFX/translation/editor's notes are in tahoma 14. They look like this: - Quote :
- ^ SFX: tadaa --> points up
v SFX: kinda like a haughty "che" --> points down As much as possible, I try to keep the original SFX words and use notes for their translation. Same goes with the format. In Nodame, there are lots of long dash things. I try to keep them when I can. Those side-comments that characters say beside the bubble are in handwriting fonts. I only use one font for Chiaki and one font for Nodame. The same goes with both their angry fonts. That's all for now. I'll add some more stuff when I remember them.

| Wouldn't it be more general like:
Bubble font: Wild Words BG: cursive writing and augie (kristen TC too) Fomal: cloister

| Well, yeah, that's the more general list. But like you said earlier (in the other forum), the sfx and side-comments can be whatever as long as they match the "sound" and the feel. I think that way.
The list above is more like, "This is what I used, feel free to use them."
Just as long as we stick to Wildwords 14, blah blah. Augie looks too cute sometimes, so I use other fonts.

| doesn't have to be exactly size 14 xD as long as it fits the bubble box and looks okay.. i mean we are also leechers who have experience reading mangas.. so we should know the format but i guess most of it should be 14 if you say so. | |

| In the "big" pages, 14 is perfect, imo, because we don't have to fill the bubble with text. We just put text in the bubble, so the size must be right, and there must be a margin on all sides. If the text sticks too much to the bubble's border, then make it smaller.
Some pages have to be done in text sizes 10 or 12. Inconsistency in the cleaning itself, i think. Dunno if it's the reso or the page sizes.

| I resize all my page sizes to 1200 px so there's no inconsistencey on my end | |
